Our plan was to camp at one of the many pullouts along the road.
On our drive up to Prewitt two days earlier we had observed many other people camping in the same manner.
Luckily this wide pullout was open and put us about 700 feet above the ocean. Two days earlier a family with a popup tent camper was set up at this spot.

Later that afternoon a young man named Tal stopped on the road alongside our truck to ask if it was okay to camp in the pullouts. I jokingly replied, "yes, if you made a reservation with the forest service." Later we invited him to join us to share our narrow section of dirt and gravel.
