First Trek - Los Padres NP - April 2007

Coming to the end of the Twin Rock 4x4 road near Brown Mountain and the first test of the FWC mounting system on the Tacoma.

Driving to our next camp we found a marker

and this old benchmark.

Lazy Camp Los Padres NP.
Yes, that is the actual name of the campsite. Only two sites but very few visitors. We went on a hike one afternoon and crossed La Brea Creek a couple times.

Waiting for the splash.

Miranda Pine Mountain

Ursus americanus visited late one afternoon.
There was much less stress in the camp with the visit of this bear than 25 years ago when I encountered Ursus arctos horribilis in Yellowstone.
