Beef Basin, Utah

We did not see another vehicle during our entire time in Beef Basin and no complaints about that from us.

Beginning the descent into Beef Basin

One of the many ruins in the basin.

We had planned to continue on into Canyonlands but were concerned about the condition of the stream crossing before the park boundary after the recent rains.

Another thunderstorm but a beautiful photo opportunity.

One of the hazards of the back country.

A plug solved the problem until we reached civilization.

This photo was taken after a tremendous thunderstorm and hail storm blasted through our position east of Beef Basin.
After many years of tent camping we were pleased to be snug in our FWC.

Nice looking buck spotted alongside the road.

San Juan Mountains, CO

Camp near Stoney Pass preparing to hike two of the nearby mountains. Our favorite spot was being used by the shepherd who was herding hundreds of sheep between Sheep and Canby Mountains.

It was so darn pretty here that we stayed for two nights.
Hiked Handies Peak from this camp.

Met a backpacker near our camp in American Basin and gave him a ride into Silverton the next morning.

Imogene Pass and the guy in the JEEP said we would not make it with a camper. His last words were, "See you back in Telluride."
I think the east side is a more difficult drive than the west.

Crystal Geyser, near Green River, Utah

The geyser erupted more than 40 feet in the air as I moved the truck into position for the photo.

The bubbles before the blast but no danger because it is a cold (CO2) geyser.

We camped here waiting for the geyser to erupt and it did at 11:48 PM. Very cool to watch by the lights of the truck but made for poor photography.
The geyser erupted again at about 10 AM

Fish Lake National Forest, Utah

We camped here for several nights while hiking six peaks in the area and watched some satellite television in the evening.
