After
breaking camp in Panamint Valley we drove to Tonopah, Nevada. On the
way we drained the water tank in the camper because the temperatures in
Tonopah were forecast for a low of 12 and high of 35. (This event would
have consequences later on our trip.)
We planned to celebrate another New Years Eve at the Mizpah Hotel.
Jan in her New Years attire toasting our decision to stay at the Mizpah.
We
brought in the New Year with the hotel's 'Mardi Gras at the Mizpah.' Our
evening began with a 4-course New Orleans-style dinner in the elegant
Jack Dempsey Room. After dinner we joined the Mardi Gras party in the
lobby and enjoyed a midnight champagne toast.
This year Clark and Jo Ann joined us for the event. Hats and party favors provided by the Mizpah.
The Lady in Red was not seen roaming any of the hallways during our stay.
